King’s College London and its Strand campus is centrally located in the borough of Westminster and there are many hotel, B&B, and hostel options within all price ranges. The information listed below should be used for information purposes and are not endorsements by TRAC, its committee, or KCL. Due to London’s popularity year-round, bookings should be made early.
Imperial London Hotels Group operates 6 hotels that are centrally located near Russell Square and close to the British Museum and all are within 1.5 miles of the TRAC conference location at the Strand. Prices range from an average of £80-90 per night for a single room inclusive of breakfast and internet. Please contact them directly to book reservations at +44 (0) 207 278 7871 or see their website.
The Russell Square area also has many B&Bs that can be found via guidebooks or other internet booking resources. These include, but are not limited to: www.expedia.co.uk, www.booking.com, and www.bedandbreakfasts.co.uk.
As London is both a major tourist attraction and a world transit hub, many youth hostels also serve the area. Lonely Planet and HostelWorld are good online choices to search for them, as are London/UK guidebooks.
The University of London operates several student residence halls that offer short-term visitor accommodation (usually up to seven days) during the year. Please see here for more information and contact details. UCL and LSE also offer short-stay term-time housing for academic visitors to London.
